Our Story

Hi, I’m Nikki, founder of Joy in the Present and Border in a Box, based in Pershore, Worcestershire. My journey started when I moved into a new build home with nothing but a patch of grass. I retrained as a garden designer and, inspired by the creativity, left a 20-year IT career to launch Border in a Box, ready-made garden design kits that made creating a beautiful garden simple for everyone.

How Joy in the Present Began

From creating those first garden design kits, the idea blossomed into gift boxes, then into a full garden-inspired gift business. Joy in the Present was born from a love of colour, nature, and meaningful connection. I believe colour lifts the spirit, and my mission is to share that joy and make the world a brighter place through thoughtful, design-led gifts.
